>> Hi. I'm David Katzmaier with CNET.com, and I'm sitting next to the LG LH-30 series. This is a 42-inch model, but this review also applies to the 37, 32, and 47-inch models. They all have identical specs and should give very similar picture quality. This is LG's basic 1080P line of TVs. That means it doesn't have 120-hertz capability; that's reserved for the step up models, but it does have plenty of picture adjustments. We'll get to those in a sec. Styling on this TV is quite basic. It's glossy black around the edge of the screen, a little thicker below the screen. There's also this matching glossy black stand that does have a swivel capability. We did like that. We mentioned those picture adjustments. This TV does have extensive picture adjustments. There's something called a picture wizard that goes through a series of test patterns that actually allows you to set up the picture, all the basic picture controls, contrast, brightness, things like that, using this wizard that actually worked relatively well. There's also very extensive expert picture adjustments. You can go in and play with color temperature six ways from Sunday. There's also an extensive color management system, along with gamma and a host of other adjustments. So this really is, probably, the most adjustable TV we've ever tested. Other features include the two HDMI inputs on the back panel. There's also a single component video input, as well as a PC input. There's also a third HDMI input on the side panel, but nowhere will you find any S-video inputs. There's no S-video on this television. We took the LG into the lab. We really did appreciate those massive amounts of picture adjustments. We were able to get the color extremely close to the ideal. On the flip side, there's really some things you can't adjust. That includes black level, which was relatively light on this TV, and uniformity. We did see, especially off-angle, the picture really didn't stay as uniform as we'd like to see. That's a quick look at the LG LH30 series, and I'm David Katzmaier.
