>> Hey, what's up guys, it's Justin Yu with a First Look at the Lexmark Impact S305 multifunction printer. It is a top pick for users that want a budget device to print photos, movie tickets and boarding passes, but don't have a lot of money to spend. This $100 multifunction can print, scan, and copy, but it doesn't have a fax machine, so don't call it an all-in-one. It also doesn't have the features you would expect on a more expensive printer like auto-document feeders for double-sided prints or a duplexer, but it does give you small perks like a cartridge bay for four separate inks to save you money and it builds in wireless print server. Now, with all the devices you have in your home, it is easy to get lost in a sea of cables, but you can connect this printer to your home computer through your home network. Setting it up is easy. It took us less than five minutes and all you need are the drivers that are on the CD in the box. Now, looking around the S305, you will see there is not a lot going on in terms of design, but it's certainly not an eye sore and at this price, what do you really expect. But, the most impressive feature on the Impact is the print speed and this thing is fast. So fast in fact that it beat out every competitor for the top spot at an impressive 7.3 pages of black text per minute and 1.3 snapshot photos per minute. That is pretty fast. We share a similar enthusiasm for output quality as well with fully formed text lines that you would expect out of a laser printer. The printed photos look equality pleasing as well.
