'Last Week Tonight' takes on the FCC, crashes its site (again)
John Oliver is crashing the FCC's website again, sort of.
The host of HBO's Last Week Tonight took to his show once again to talk about the fight for net neutrality.
Once again, net neutrality is in trouble.
Late
In the video, Oliver tells viewers that commenting about rolling back FCC Regulations on net neutrality is a bit more difficult than it was previously.
However, he made it simple for anybody to comment on pending deregulation.
You just have to head over to Gofccyourself.com, where you can easily leave your feedback on the FCC's idea of restoring internet freedom.
Soon after the segment aired, the FCC's website began crashing and lagging out, like we do to the influx of people hoping to leave a comment.
The FCC blamed the site slow downs on multiple DDOS attacks, though, Stating quote, these were deliberate attempts by external actors to bombard the FCC's comment system, unquote.
Technically we could qualify John Oliver as an external actor if you're nit-picking.
Regardless of what really cause slow down, it's important for you to weigh in, Oliver called on all sections of the Internet to participate in this very important debate.
I'm calling upon all of you
The internet time wasters and trouble makers, so join me once more in just five to ten minutes of minor efforts,
Full video of the segment is available on YouTube and we definitely recommend you watch the 20 minute piece.
It has a lot of information that you need to know about Tittle I and Tittle II and ISP classifications but made very easy for you to understand.
We also recommend you check out cnet.com's recent interview with FCC Chairman, Ajit Pai.
There is a lot of information in there and you can get his feelings on net neutrality direct from the source.
I'm Ashley Esqueda.
Be good humans.
