JBL Flip 3: A better Bluetooth speaker for the same price
Wireless & Bluetooth Speakers
[SOUND] The third time's the charm, right?
Well when it comes to JBL's Flip 3 Bluetooth speaker, it is.
The third generation model has a more streamlined design, better battery life at ten hours, and is splash proof while the price remains the same at $100.
I got a black review unit but the speaker is available in seven other colors.
And like its predecessors can be stood up vertically or laid out horizontally.
Since one of the base ports gets covered up a bit when you go vertical, you do get a little bit more bass in horizontal mode.
No carrying case comes with this speaker, but it seems pretty durable and, as I said, it is splash-proof and has a flap that securely covers its USB charging port And audio input.
It's also equipped with a built in noise and echo cancelling speaker phone, and you can wirelessly link multiple JBL connect enabled speakers together to amplify the sound.
Be good to pair up a couple of these, but a single Flip 3 sounds just fine, and plays very loud for its size with ample base.
While its sound and battery life may not quite measure up to the more expensive JBL Charge 2+ or UE Boom, it's still impressive for a small speaker at this price point and well worth checking out.
