Hi.
I'm Scott Stein at CNET and I'm here at Cupertino with not one but two new iPhones-- the 5C and the 5S.
Right here we've got the 5C and this is a first for Apple.
They haven't released two new phones in one year.
What really we are looking at here is an iPhone 5 that's been redesigned.
You've got 5 different colors available, you've got blue, you've got pink, you've got yellow, you've got green, you've got white and the polycarbonate back actually
has a very smooth lacquered feel.
Doesn't really feel like a plastic phone, it feels a little denser than that and there's actually steel reinforcement underneath.
The prices are $100 less than last year, but you can only get these up to 32 gigabytes.
If you wanna get 64, you're gonna have to go with an iPhone 5S.
It's really the same specs as the iPhone 5 and the two big feature differences are an improved face time HD camera for low light situations and you're also dealing with a slightly larger battery underneath.
So we'll see what that's like when we test one eventually.
And the design gets augmented a little bit
'cause you've also got cases.
You've got $29 Apple made cases with a variety of exposed designs and MC.
You mix and match and you come up with different colors.
You can imagine case designers are gonna do other things too.
It looks nice, it feels nice and it's really kind of a successor.
It's a way to get that iPhone 5 feel, but the iPhone 5 is not around anymore, you're gonna pick the iPhone 5C and save a little bit of money.
It's gonna be available for pre-order soon and it's gonna be on sale next week on Friday, September 20th.
I'm Scott Stein and that's a quick
look at the iPhone 5C here in Cupertino.
