I'm Jessica Dolcourt from CNET here at Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona.
This is the Huawei Y300.
It is a Firefox OS phone and this is Huawei's first foray into using the mobile operating system.
Now Huawei has said before that Y stands for year and that mixed with Firefox OS means that you're looking at an entry level device
here.
The Y300 is running version 1.1 of the operating system.
It has a 4-inch display with an 800 x 480 pixel resolution.
It has a 1 gigahertz dual-core Qualcomm processor.
On the back there's a 5-megapixel camera and there is a VGA front-facing camera.
Not all ultra-low cost phones have front-facing cameras so these do have an option here.
RAM is gonna be a really small 512 megabytes and there is a micro SD card as well so you can expand
and get a little bit more.
We don't have any pricing or availability information at all except that we know it is coming very soon and it should be very affordable.
It'll especially come to emerging markets, for example Latin America and Africa as well.
