Hey, everyone.
This is Jessica Dolcourt from CNET here at CES 2014 in Las Vegas.
This is your first look at the Huawei Ascend Mate2 4G.
This is an update to last year's Huawei Ascend Mate.
What you're gonna find is the same size screen, 6.1 inch LCD display.
You're also gonna find Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on this phone.
Now, this is a phablet, it's a large sized
phone.
And the design is pretty nice, it is white with a silvery rim and a glossy back cover.
The phone also comes in black.
For the specs you've got a 13 Megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash, there's a whooping 5 Megapixel front-facing camera that Huawei says is especially good at taking group selfies.
Under the hood you've got a 1.6 Gigahertz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor.
And also a battery that is 4,000 milliamp hours,
just a little bit more than that actually.
Like last year's model, you've got the emotion view eye running which doesn't group apps vertically instead it groups them horizontally, you can also change themes with this.
However, something that is a little bit different is that the Ascend Mate2 comes with LTE built right in.
This is a large phone definitely but the buttons are pretty small, there is one-handed operational in here that automatically moves the keyboard to the side and that add some other conveniences.
The phone is a little bit heavy,
to hold one in hand though at 7 ounces.
We don't have pricing or exact availability yet but we do know that the Ascend Mate2 is coming to China in the first quarter with the other markets to follow.
