Google's Gboard puts search in the iPhone keyboard
Tech Industry
Is Google trying to take over the iPhone?
Google just made a better keyboard for IOS.
Say hello to G board now in the apple istore.
It lets you search right from inside your keyboard without having to switch apps.
And then you can quickly paste your results right into a chat.
You can search for nearby restaurant and send over the details of where to meet up.
The keyboard also can send YouTube videos.
And things like you flight details.
The search can also come through Google images, animated gifs and emoji Tap the smiley face at the bottom and you can search for emoji icons and animated gifs to match your feelings.
Although there are some bugs to work out, this keyboard does swipe typing, so you can just glide your finger over the keys to spell words.
Lifting your finger will start the next word.
This keyboard works in any app so you could email or even YouTube which is interesting because YouTube is rolling out a messaging chat feature inside of its own app.
So when you're browsing for cat videos You can stay in the app to keep chatting about cats in a thread with your friends.
Wired first reported the change which is said to be only going live for a small number of YouTube users at first.
The whole point of both of these apps is to keep you inside the world of Google without having to bounce between apps.
That's it for now.
