>> Josh Goldman: Hi I'm Josh Goldman, Senior Editor for CNET reviews and this is the Gateway UC7807u. The UC apparently stands for ultra chic but whether or not this laptop is is open for debate. What is certain is that it's Gateway's first 13.3 inch notebook. While it's not all that slim or that light it's still a good size and weight for travel and at less than $700, it's reasonably affordable. This model is sold at retail only so it's not configurable but none the less has decent components for main stream users including an Intel Core Duo 2 processor, 250 gig hard drive and 3 gigs of memory. You also get some good features like an HDMI out, multi-format memory card reader, a web cam and a row of touch sensitive media controls. Performance is on par with other systems in its class making good for average productivity tasks, watching movies or listening to music. However, batter life is just shy of 2.5 hours since it uses a small 6 cell battery. [Background music] I'm Josh Goldman and that's a look at the Gateway UC7807u.
