First Look at the LG Lifeband Touch and Heart Rate earphones

Hi. I'm Scott Stein at CES 2014. And wearable tech and fitness tech are all over the place. I'm here with the LG Lifeband Touch. LG's entry into fitness wearables, and here it is on my wrist. Now, what does it do? Well, it has a Touch OLED display up here. It snaps on your wrist very easily. Just pops on and off and it connects with iOS and Android to check your steps. It will also encourage you to exercise more but it also has two-way communication because you can silence phone calls, you control your music and you can connect with heart rate monitors, which brings up the other product, LG's Heart Rate earphones. These have heart rate monitors inside them. Why earphones with a heart rate monitor? Well, kind of make sense because inside here is a sensor that's always been in contact with your ear. So, if you're wearing these, it will communicate that heart rate to the Lifeband Touch. Two-way communication is interesting because there aren't a lot of wearable tech devices that do that and the LG Lifeband Touch will receive call notifications and text messages but will also like to communicate back with your phone to do things like silencing phone calls and control your music and volumes. So, if you're sitting somewhere and the phone rings, you could put your hand over the Lifeband Touch in order to silence it. It also has gesture control, so you could raise your hand right up and check how you're doing. LG has its own fitness app that works on iOS and Android but also it will pair with other services like MyFitnessPal and RunKeeper and others in the future to track and deal with that data. The Lifeband Touch also has a little glowing light that goes from red to green, to tell you how you're doing throughout the day in your daily progress. The LG Lifeband Touch is for growing area, wearable tech and fitness, and the Heart Rate monitor headphones that are also coming out an interesting dimension.
