The Tichome Mini is a battery powered smart speaker with the Google Assistant built in.
It's essentially a battery powered version of the Google Home.
And it even looks like the Google Home mini.
So if you're looking for a portable Google Home, the [INAUDIBLE] has a lot going for it.
The sound quality is way better than the comparable Echo Dot, and a little better than the Google Home Mini.
The bass and treble distort just a little bit It's not that loud, but it's better than you'd expect for a speaker this size.
You can use it as a Bluetooth speaker and sync it up with a tap thanks to the fact that it has NFC.
You can't do that with an iPhone though and it's a little sporadic.
With Android.
It is splash proof though, which is nice.
And it works with the Google Home app.
You don't have to download a separate tick home app, and you can group it with your other Google speakers for sync music throughout your home.
And it'll recognize other nearby homes, so you won't get overlapping responses when you say a command.
Plus, just like with the Google Home, you can use the Assistant to control your Smart Home, set a timer, check your calendar or search the web.
That said, unplugging and replugging a Google Home Mini to move it isn't hard.
A Google Home Mini is only 50 bucks [INAUDIBLE].
The battery life isn't great.
It's rated at six hours, but lasted a little less than that when we played back music at a medium volume.
There's no good way to check its battery life.
Its hearing isn't as good as the Minis.
It's fine, but if you're a quiet talker, you'll need to speak up if you're across the room.
And Google hasn't allowed third-party devices to make calls yet, so this isn't a full Google Home replacement.
So if you primarily want to take Google Assistant with you on-the-go Use your phone.
But if you want a stationary smart home speaker, I recommend the Google Home Mini.
If you're primarily interested in a compact battery powered Bluetooth speaker, the [UNKNOWN] mini is pretty good, and the Google Assistant helps elevate it above the rest of the crowd.
