Easter Jeep Safari: 7 killer concepts for the dirt

Each spring, Jeep brings out all of its Concepts to Easter Jeep's Safari in Moab, Utah, and we were lucky enough to tag along. The Jeep Safari Concept is all about bringing the outside in, with transparent doors, translucent roof, and rear seats that face slightly outward to afford a good look at the landscape The devil is in the details and this one is wicked. [MUSIC] The CJ66 concept is like 3 Jeeps in 1 with the Wrangler TJ frame and 1966 Wrangler CJ body and current Wrangler JK element. But it gets even better when you look under the hood with a 5.7 liter engine. lockable axles and 35 inch tires help this little guy get up and over almost anything. And it just may be my favorite concept this year. [BLANK_AUDIO] The Grand Cherokee debuted in 1993, and Jeep celebrates its 25th birthday with the Grand One concept. In addition to a Hemi engine, a lift, And big tires. Look for lots of 90's throwbacks like a gameboy, and a period correct cell phone. The Jeep Switchback is a concept that you could actually build yourself thanks to all the bolt on hardware from Jeep performance parts. The engine and transmission are stocked but capability is enhanced with more ground clearance and Fox shocks. There are a few one-off custom pieces, but by and large, if you have the coin, you could turn your Rubicon Unlimited into a Switchback with ease. With the Luminator concept, Jeep wanted to showcase some advanced lighting features. So, they developed all kind of LED lighting for the rig, including a LED light bar that can pick up animals on the trail. And a flag whip with LEDs that go green when the Luminator is in motion, yellow when moving slowly and red when stopped. And for even more tech Jeep decided to add a drone and a roof-mounted solar panel. [MUSIC] The Jeep Trail Pass isn't so much a concept, as it is a new Jeep Compass Trailhawk with an inch and a half lift, larger than stock tires, and rock rails. The power plan is a stock 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine, with a 9 speed automatic transmission. Jeep just threw up a roof basket up on top to carry some gear, and what appear to be Chinese knock-offs of the celebrated Max Tracks recovery boards.
