Hi, Im Molly Wood, and Im here to show you how to create a folder on your Android home
screen.
Its really tempting to put every app icon and widget you can think of on your home screen
until you end up with a disorganized mess that isnt any help to anyone. What you need now:
folders.
To make one, press and hold on the home screen until you see the Add to Home Screen button.
Now, choose Folders. There are some pre-built folder options here already, like your contacts,
contacts with phone numbers, which is useful, and so on. Or just click New folder. Now,
honestly, the hardest thing about dealing with folders is figuring out how to re-name them. Tap
to open it, and then press and hold the title bar here until you get the rename menu.
Now, I use folders to organize all the games I download for my son; you can use them for
grouping similar apps, like I mentioned, or for shortcuts, or use the built-in contacts options.
Either way, folders are a great way to get easier access to apps without cluttering up your
home screen.
For CNET how-to, Im Molly Wood and youre welcome.
