>> I'm Nicole Lee, Associate Editor for CNET.com and this is a First Look at the Casio Exilim C721. And the reason why I have this container of water right here is because this phone is water-resistant. Yes, it's military-certified to be water and shock resistant. As you can see here even it's a very attractive phone. A little bit bulky, but still pretty sleek and slim. On the front here is the OLED display that just shows the date and time information. Flip it open, you get a very nice 2.2-inch display here as well. It's very bright and colorful. Underneath that you do get the typical navigation controls, as well as a very spacious and roomy number keypad. Of course the most interesting thing about the phone is its high quality camera. In order to facilitate the design with that function, you could actually open up the display, twist it so that the display opens up outward, and acts as the camera viewfinder. In fact, when you do this it will activate the camera automatically. When the camera is activated, all of these buttons on the side here become camera controls. And the camera has a 3 times optical zoom, 16 times digital zoom, auto focus with spot plus nine-point focus, an image stabilizer, and LED flash, as well as video recording. The camera also has 15 BestShot modes, which takes the highest quality modes depending on your surrounding. The features don't stop there. There's also TV-out, so you can show your photos on the big screen TV. There's also PC-synching for your music and your video clips. There's also EV-DO Rev. A that gives you access to Verizon's broadband services, like V Cast video streaming, as well as V Cast Music with Rhapsody, that let's you download and purchase music over the air. Other features of the phone include visual voice mail, GPS, a speakerphone, stereo Bluetooth, a variety of messaging features including instant messaging, and email and of course a browser. The Casio Exilim C721 also comes with a very handy charging dock. However, you'd need this charging dock in order to charge the phone. You can't just go with the cable. The Casio Exilim C721 is around $280 with a two-year service agreement with Verizon Wireless. It's pretty expensive, but for what you're getting out of it, I think it's a good value. My name is Nicole Lee and this has been a first look at the Casio Exilim C721.
