>> Kent German: I'm Kent German Senior Editor here at CNET.com. Today we're gonna take a first look at the Duet W002. If we want to talk about iPhone clones this phone definitely does it. It is a touch screen phone. It is also imported from China by Beyond E-tech which has the other Duet phones but not really impressed at all. Some of these icons as you'll see on the display are exactly what you'll find on the iPhone and it just it's just way too much of a copy and it just doesn't do a good job and I think that when you actually when you want to emulate somebody and then build on that success and then make it your own that's great but when you just simply copy then I really can't accept that so not impressed with this phone at all. But I do want to show it to you just because the similarities in some cases are striking. Overall it is about the same shape as the iPhone. It's a bit smaller; it is a bit lighter as well but black with a silver trim, same general candy bar shape with the large touch screen. It does have a couple of extra buttons down here which is actually a good thing because the display is sometimes so hard to use that these buttons really add to it. Now let's just go to that display. It is a resistive display so we really use the included stylus most of the time. There is no stylus slot, you'll have to hook it on the edge here with this little lanyard but going through and looking at this, the screen does have several panels so you can swipe back and forth not that swiping was all that easy all the time but just take a look at some of these icons you'll see the photos, the camera, the TV, well it's called TV on the iPhone it's called YouTube, they copy it but they don't do a good job of really making it work and making it their own. Phone dialer interface looks about the same as on the iPhone. You can use a virtual keyboard that's a QWERTY keyboard. Not really useful. You can use handwriting recognition, that works ok but I think if you have a keyboard I'd rather use that. It's just a pity this one is so small. You do get analog TV but don't even get a channel on this one so I couldn't really test it. Features are about mid range. There's a 1.3 megapixel camera, although in the choices for the camera we didn't go above a resolution of 640x40 pixels which is really VGA so I don't know where they get off calling it a 1.3 megapixel. The only real standout feature of this phone it does have dual SIM cards; it is unlocked of course so you could pop in 2 SIM cards, make calls on either line. [ Background music ] We used it with AT&T and T-Mobile. Going for the D888 which is the candy bar phone, we reviewed it a little while ago, just much easier to use, simpler design, no touch screen but really have a much better user experience. I'm Kent German and this is the Duet W002.
