Uber is facing yet another lawsuit.
A New York based law firm filed a complaint seeking class action status on behalf of two anonymous women and any other writers who may have experience sexual assault or harassment while using the ride sharing service.
The company has been hit with at three separate lawsuits alleging its drivers sexually assaulted passengers.
Multiple states have launched investigations into Uber's screening process for its drivers.
Jeanne M. Christensen, a partner at the New York-based law firm Wigdor LLP who represents the two women in this complaint, said quote, Uber must make drastic changes to prevent another female rider from harm, unquote.
The lawsuit asks the court to legally force Uber to change the way it screens drivers and be more transparent about what it knows about alleged sexual assaults by its drivers.
Christianson says more transparency lets potential customers make an educated decision as to whether the service is safe enough to use.
This is the first time that Wigder, LLP has sued Uber.
With previous lawsuits ending in private settlements.
When asked for comment, Uber responded quote Uber received this complaint today and we are in the process of reviewing it.
These allegations are very important to us and we take them very seriously.
Seriously, unquote.
If you've ever had a scary ride sharing experience, we'd love to hear about it, tell us in the comments.
