>> Hello, everyone, Dong Ngo's here and so is the Acer Aspire EasyStore H340 NAS Server. This is a Windows Home Server base four bay that's powered by a 1.6Ghz internal Atom processor and 2GB of RAM. It's a nicely designed NAS server with its four drive bays accessible from the front and a completely tool-free hard drive installation approach. The server comes with only one tray [inaudible] with 2TB hard drive. You can use a server that way with one hard drive or add more hard drives to it. Using the other bays or via its USB and eSATA port. There are one eSATA port and four USB ports on the back. This part are only for external devices. Printers, unfortunately, are not supported. On the front here there's another USB port for quick backup features. Just insert a thumb drive in this port and press the button above it. The entire content of the thumb drive will be backed up into the server's internal storage. Despite the fact this is a four bay NAS server, the Acer Aspire EasyStore doesn't support any [inaudible] configurations. Instead, it has a feature called folder duplication that duplicates any folder of your choice to multiple hard drives for data protection. To use this feature, of course, you would need at least two separate hard dives. The server [inaudible] 3.5 [inaudible] hard drive of any capacities. The NAS server performed well in our testing and offer all the features that Windows Home Server offers such as local network media streaming, comprehensive backup for PC computers, convenient remote access, ease of use, and so on. It doesn't have any other special features such as support for IP camera, media streaming of the Internet, other support for Mac Tamashi. For this reason it's a good choice for PC environments such as home or home office. The Acer Aspire EasyStore NAS server is available now for about $500. You can also find a 1TB version of it for about $400. For more information don't forget to check out the full review at cnet.com.
