A Lego construction machine and a mobile solar plant are built for a changing world
We were so excited that we got 122 nominees for this competition.
And with people from the age of 14 up to the very old people.
So it was very, very fun.
I think from for our perspective, if you do a really good rendering of the product showing how the features work, of course that is a really good benefit for us and the jury to see.
What this machine can do.
And some of the skills from the community that sent in the nominations is the 3D quality.
You can see them in the movies, it's amazing.
How well the models were built with Lego pieces.
Functionality out of Lego pieces, then it was actually the features and the evaluation how, futuristic, the features were that we also evaluated So those three combined categories.
Great the winners you saw today.>>Hello I'm VidCon rush and this is Volvo fighter.
As you can see the arm has a detachable working kids so it can change its function For example, the drill would adjust the terrain, the bulldozer would clean the rubble and then it can start breaking.
This is a set of function for this purpose.
A bit animatistic as you would recognize, that is has four legs, more or less a head and an arm coming and then a storage space.
And the storage base can just contain the working heads or transport the material like rubble.
If I would have more time I would have included more like actually playability functions like including a motor inside.
or making it driveable making it move the arm.
Actually, Lego has the Minestorm little computer that you can install on a Lego set.
So you can actually program it to do something.
That would have been really impressive.
I don't want to say that humans could control it because probably [INAUDIBLE] at the beginning, but.
Even after that it could be a communication between the two like humans draw something and then the machine starts to build it.
I don't imagine a disaster of machine overtaking scenario, it can be like one helping the other Meaning.
The secret to wow was I go George is to try not to vow the language is the best thing that you could do is just construct what vows you.
And then if you have 100% confidence in your construction, then I think it will reach its purpose and I think it will evolve everybody.
If it was you
My name is James coats and this is my concept of the bow Icarus was the concept was to make a shin for the future.
I thought things are environmentally friendly for not clean They're not environmentally safe, they're just not gonna work because fossil fuels run out.
Environmental standards going to become stricter.
We need a way around it and needs to be something that can work anywhere.
I think the funny thing about it is the the kind of animal look here has with this because even though it was designed with a purpose, I still wanted to look fun.
So Think, if i was gonna change anything, it would just be polished it a bit more.
Because, i think the time on a competition was really the main thing that held me back.
As an adult, ive been playing with Legos for four years now.
But as a child, i grew out of it at a normal age.
And then i came back to it in the last few years.
My girlfriend bought me a Lego set for Christmas Out of the blue and got me back into it.
I think the secret to [UNKNOWN] is have a first picture you see it has agood impact, it will look impressive.
If you go small it can be very clever but it won't impress people in the same way when you have something They just has a big impact on lives.
I think the fun thing about Lego, as you can see here today, so you don't really need to be a professional engineer to build the construction equipment of the future.
It's just imagination and play so, Just play, have fun, let your creativity work, and hopefully you will be able to construct something great for the future.
