360-degree video puts eyes in the back of your head
Guys, we're living in The Matrix.
You know that scene were Neo is falling backwards and everything floats down, but the camera just flies around him?
That is bullet time and it's pretty much the coolest video ever.
Now, thanks to Google Jump with its 16 GoPros chilling in a circle, we can do this Hello bullet time selfies, kind of.
Just now the cameras are looking out rather than in.
Okay, just take my money and give me three sixty degree video.
You know that old saying about having eyes in the back of your head?
Well, with these videos you can see all around you.
It's like a choose your own adventure.
Look left and you see a tiger fighting a robot, and on the right, it's the Sound of Music, maybe So buying sixteen GoPros is probably out reach for most of us me models.
And if you want to have the full VR experience you have to wait for more headsets.
But you and I could totally make these videos right know.
There are cameras like the Theta, the Nokia Ozo is on the way, and there is even the Panono that captures a three sixty panorama at one hundred mega pixels.
And that is why 360 degree video is some of the most exciting tech in the world.
