An explosion of two-way wireless Internet services will lead to 61.5 million users by 2003, up from 7.4 million last year, according to a new study by International Data Corp. The two greatest factors contributing to wireless Net growth in 1999 were Microsoft's development of Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) products and several portals designed for mobile users, IDC said.
