Short Take: Cablevision sues over competitive practices

Cablevision Systems, the leading cable television provider in the Boston area, said it sued competitors RCN and Boston Edison over creation of a telecommunications network to carry television signals. In the suit filed in federal court in Boston, Cablevision alleges Boston Edison violated procedures laid out in the federal Telecommunications Act of 1996 and the city of Boston allowed the company to install a fiber optic cable without proper permits.
