Vodafone and HTC joined forces last night to officially launch the Sensation XE and Sensation XL, following an unofficial reveal on CNET Australia a fortnight ago. Both handsets come bundled with Beats Audio brand headphones — HTC acquired a controlling share of the audio company several months ago.

The Sensation XE will be the cheaper of the two at the AU$59 price point, with the Sensation XL on offer for an extra AU$5 per month on the same plan. Both phones are also available on Vodafone's unlimited Infinite plans; they are for free on the AU$85 Infinite plan or with an additional handset repayment on lower-priced Infinite plan options.

The XL will be one of the largest smartphones in Australia, with a 4.7-inch display, though its WVGA screen resolution and single-core processor specs are somewhat less impressive compared with the Sensation XE. The XE handset is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor and 768MB RAM.
