Samsung Galaxy Round is a bendy, rollable Note 3

Samsung's on a roll. The newest addition to its sprawling family of Galaxy phones is the Galaxy Round, a curvy version of the Galaxy Note 3 that you can roll towards you.

Unlike LG's take on the curvaceous concept, the LG G Flex (aka LG Z), which bends from top to bottom, Samsung's bendy blower curves from left to right. And where LG's concave is designed to fit better around your phizzog, Samsung's enables another way of checking your notifications.

Samsung's prolific software bods have come up with a system it calls 'Roll Effect' -- with the Round laying dormant on a table, you can roll the phone towards you and the screen will turn on, so you can see the time and who's tagged you on Facebook. A bit like a social-networked Weeble.

Otherwise, it looks exactly like the Note 3, down to the leatherette back. It has the same size screen (5.7 inches) and same Full HD 1080p resolution, and same quad-core 2.3GHz processor.

There's no word on a launch outside of Samsung's native Korea, with the company's UK reps saying it's only available there. It'll set Koreans back 1.09 million won, or roughly £630 -- about the same as the Note 3.

The Note 3 recently reached Britain, and in our full review we marvelled at its staggering power and gorgeous great screen. Its companion gadget, the Galaxy Gear, was not such a success, missing crucial features and struggling with poor battery life.
