Nokia's enormous new super-camera phone will be called the Lumia 1020, according to well-connected Twitter-based leak artist @evleaks.

Up until now referred to as the Lumia EOS -- an internal codename, apparently -- the thoroughly leaked mobile is set to be the Windows Phone version of last year's 41-megapixel 808 PureView, which my colleague Rich Trenholm memorably described as "a rocket strapped to a rollerskate".

If old evleaks is right, the 1020 label means it'll be positioned as the top-of-the-range Lumia, ahead of the Lumia 925, itself only announced last month.

Nokia has a swish launch event planned for 11 July in New York, the invite to which it unsubtly flagged with "41 million reasons" and "Zoom. Reinvented". So we know the specs, we know what it looks like, we know what it's called -- save your money and cancel that party Nokia, the Internet's launched this thing for you.

I wouldn't expect to see the Lumia 1020 in shops for a few months yet. Nokia has a tedious habit of announcing phones before they're ready, with its latest, the Lumia 925, taking a month to go from unveiling to unboxing. Nevertheless, it's an exciting proposition and set to be easily Nokia's most interesting product in years.

Samsung has got its retaliation in early with the Galaxy S4 Zoom, a 16-megapixel effort with a bulky 10x optical zoom. It'll be very interesting to see which produces the best pics in real-world conditions -- expect a detailed comparison as soon as we can get our hands on both photoblowers.

Are you psyched for the Lumia 1020? What do you think of the name? What kind of price would Nokia have to deliver this at to get you pre-ordering? Let me know down in the comments, or over on our snap-happy Facebook page.
