iPhone 5S could come in two Galaxy Note-challenging sizes
New reports suggest the iPhone 5S could come in not one but two larger sizes to take on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 et al.
The days of one Apple iPhone to rule them all could be coming to an end. New reports suggest when the iPhone 5S comes along we could see not one but two bigger iPhones, to take on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the rest of Apple's Android smart phone rivals.
Apple is considering a 4.7-inch model and a 5.7-inch model to follow the current 4-inch iPhone 5, Reuters reports.
The 4.7-inch model would directly challenge the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One in terms of screen size.
And the bigger 5.7-inch model would challenge the Galaxy Note, ruler of the inbetween-screens known as phablets.
The iPhone has been more or less the same size since it was first introduced six years ago this month, with a small elongation for the iPhone 5. Meanwhile Android devices have ballooned in size, the high-end phones going up to the 5-inch mark, with phablets and 7-inch tablets filling in the gap between the 4-inch size of the iPhone and the 10 inches of the iPad.
Meanwhile, Apple could be planning as many as five or six different colours for the iPhone. Up until now you could only get it in black or white -- and sometimes not even that. Word on the street is that the coloured version will be a cheaper model.
