The much-rumoured mini spinoff of the S4 was briefly spied on Samsung's UK site, but there are no specs to go on.

A much-rumoured mini version of Samsung's flagship Galaxy S4 has leaked on the mobile maker's website. But it was a blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance.

Engadget reports the S4 mini (with a lowercase 'm', as opposed to the S3 Mini) showed up on Samsung's Content and Services page, nestled between the Galaxy Mega 6.3 LTE and the ageing Galaxy S2. But head to the page now, and you'll see it's been removed.

The diddy device goes under the product name GT-I9195, according to the screengrab. Its brief appearance was only for us UK visitors to the site, hinting heavily that we'll be among the first to get our mitts on the minuscule mobile.

There's no word on its specs, though. A previous leak pegged the handset to have a 4.3-inch screen, a dual-core 1.6GHz processor, and an 8-megapixel camera, but that's no guarantee. But I think it's safe to say its price will be considerably lower than the full-size Galaxy S4.

The handset was said to be delayed until the middle of July, instead of its intended launch date of last week.

The mini is just another spinoff from the S4. A Google edition that runs pure Android is on the way, which is a blessing for anyone peeved that Samsung's own software takes up half the storage space on the standard S4. The Google edition is US-only at the moment though, so fingers crossed for a UK launch. The S4 Active is also on the way, which is a bit like a standard S4 that's donned shoulder pads and a helmet. It's more rugged, with a waterproof and dustproof casing that'll keep it safe from the elements. Inside, the specs are the same.

Are you looking forward to the S4 mini? Or will it be another disappointment, like the S3 Mini? Let me know in the comments, or on Facebook.
