Xiaomi's 12T Pro is all about the camera.

Xiaomi

Xiaomi doesn't shy away from beefy cameras on its phones, and the new Xiaomi 12T Pro keeps this going with a massive 200-megapixel camera.

The main camera of Xiaomi's 12T Pro has a Samsung-made 1/1.22-inch sensor, or among the highest resolution camera sensors ever made for a phone. These larger sensors tend to deliver better images in low-light environments and more bokeh, among other image enhancements.

Along with that 200-megapixel main shooter, a 8-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera complete the rear camera module.

However, best-in-class image quality on a smartphone isn't determined by one factor, or in this case, a 200-megapixel camera. It goes beyond high megapixel counts, which let you enlarge and crop into a photo without losing detail. As with any other phone, the Xiaomi 12T Pro's software (computational photography) will play a crucial role in determining the image quality of the final photo, though Xiaomi has a solid track record.

In addition to the headline-making camera module, the Xiaomi 12T Pro features all the trappings of a 2022 flagship. There's a top-of-the line processor (Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1), a crystalline 6.67-inch AMOLED display, a large 5,000-mAh battery, super fast 120W charging and 5G compatibility. Pricing details weren't revealed at the time this was announced, but the 12T Pro is expected to receive a release in Europe and the UK among other places.
