Short Take: Tut licenses tech to rival Epigram

Tut Systems has licensed its first-generation home networking technology to rival Epigram. The standardized 1Mbps technology allows users to connect PCs using existing home phone lines. The deal allows Epigram's faster technology to be compatible with Tut's technology. Both companies plan to submit separate proposals for the next-generation phoneline standard that is expected to reach speeds of 10 Mbps.
