Short Take: Cox, Media One swap New England cable systems

Cable operators Cox Communications and Media One Group agreed to trade certain cable television systems in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The deal represents a swap of a total of 105,000 customers, and furthers the companies' strategies of consolidating cable operations into manageable "clusters," or geographic regions. The agreement is expected to be finalized by the third quarter of this year, pending regulatory reviews.
