Samsung: Galaxy S II coming to U.S. in August
One of this year's best Android handsets is finally set to touch down on U.S. soil later this summer.

Speaking to a group of Korean journalists earlier today, Samsung's president of mobile business and digital imaging Shin Jong-kyun said that the best-selling handset will make its way to the States "sometime in August."
As it did with the original Galaxy S series, Samsung plans to make the Galaxy S II available across multiple carriers. Each provider will offer a slight variation of the device, preloading the handset with its own bundle of applications and services.
According to leaks and rumors, the Galaxy S II will come to Sprint as the Samsung Within, Verizon as the Samsung Function, and AT&T as the Samsung Attain.
Part of the reason why the Galaxy S II is getting so much attention is because of its impressive hardware, which includes a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, and a front-facing 2-megapixel camera. On the software side of things, the handset runs the latest version of Android 2.3 Gingerbread and features Samsung's custom TouchWiz 4.0 interface.
