Photos: Samsung G800, F700, i550, i780, Armani and more

Last night Crave attended the global launch of several Samsung handsets, including a 5-megapixel camera phone, the Samsung G800. In true Samsung style, the event held at the British Museum was huge, and packed with exciting products.

Samsung G800
The true star of the show without a doubt was the G800. It packs a 5-megapixel camera, 3x optical zoom, auto-focus, xenon flash, face detection and wide dynamic range optimisation.

This beast of a camera phone takes Samsung's phone portfolio closer to a standalone digital camera than ever before. Impressively, it also packs HSDPA (3.5G) for fast access to the Web and an expandable microSD card for storing all your pictures.

The Samsung G800 will be available from several major networks some time in November. We had a quick play with it and our first impressions were good, but we'll reserve any final judgements for the full review. Click on the next photo to see the rest of Samsung's new mobile phones. -Andrew Lim

Samsung F700
Don't want an iPhone but you fancy something with a large touchscreen? Well, the Samsung F700 is a swish handset designed to let your fingers do the talking. We had a quick play with this last night and it seems to work well.

It has a full Qwerty keypad -- useful for tapping out long text messages and emails -- and a touchscreen that vibrates when you touch it, making it easier to know when you've done something.

Other features include HSDPA for fast mobile Web access, a 3-megapixel camera and an expandable microSD slot.

This sexy handset will be available some time in November and from the looks of it, on Vodafone.

Samsung F210
Not to be confused with the very fiddly Samsung X830, this thin phone opens like a flick knife to reveal a standard keypad, which is much easier to use than the X830's.

The F210 supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, AAC+e and WMA files, and lets you store up to 1GB of music on it. It also features an FM radio and 2-megapixel camera. There's no built-in 3.5mm audio jack, which is a shame, but you can listen to music wirelessly over Bluetooth (A2DP).

Samsung F330
Another new music-centric phone is the F330, which alongside a music player, features HSDPA so you can browse the Web at broadband speeds, and also has an expandable microSD card slot and FM radio.

It's not the most exciting product Samsung has ever come up with, but it looks pretty slick.

Samsung i450
One of the most interesting music phones on display was the Samsung i450, which features a double-slider mechanism. This lets you slide the phone in two directions, similar to the Nokia N95.

Slide it one way and you get the keypad, slide it the other and you get a scroll wheel that browses through your music. It supports a variety of music formats and has a 3.5mm headphone jack, so you can plug in normal headphones.

Interestingly, the i450 runs on Symbian and feels more like a Nokia to use than a Samsung, but some people will really like that. Other features include HSDPA and an expandable microSD slot.

Samsung i550
This is one of our favourites. The i550 is a candybar phone that runs on Symbian and packs HSDPA, GPS, push email and comes with a trackball similar to the BlackBerry Pearl.

It's relatively compact and impressively also packs in an expandable microSD slot and a 3.2-megapixel camera for the odd snapshot. Definitely worth checking out if you're a gadget freak or business user who doesn't want to go with RIM.

Samsung i560
The i560 is very similar to the i550, packing all the same features -- with a few differences. For starters, it's a slider phone, plus it has an FM radio and 3.5mm jack, so you can plug in your own headphones.

Samsung i780
This is Samsung's big daddy Windows Mobile smart phone. Not only does it come with HSDPA and Wi-Fi, it also features GPS. A very clever feature that we tested out last night is the optical mouse.

In the middle of the navigation keys, if you run your finger over that black square, the cursor moves around. It's like using a trackpad on a laptop and we have to say it's a great idea on a mobile phone.

Other features include a full Qwerty keypad, expandable microSD slot and a 2-megapixel camera.

Samsung P520 Armani
After LG made the Prada phone, we all knew it wouldn't be long before Samsung came up with a fashion phone for itself.

The P520 Armani is a small touchscreen phone that features a 3-megapixel camera, music player and expandable microSD slot. We like it a lot and think it'll attract fashionistas who want a compact phone to squeeze into their designer jeans.

Samsung Serenta
Developed with Bang & Olufsen, this weird-looking device is actually a phone, although we don't think it's for hardcore texters. If you like listening to music though using your phone's loudspeaker, the Serenta has one of the best speakers we've ever heard.

Other noteworthy features include 4GB of on-board memory and an interesting scroll wheel/touchscreen interface that we need to spend some quality time with before we make any judgements.
