When companies get really big, they sometimes forget what made them good to begin with. We thought Nokia was one of those behemoths. But every now and then the Finns release a phone that shows us they haven't forgotten their roots.

The Nokia 6600 Slide is a compact slider phone that isn't as powerful or exciting as the honking great N96, but it doesn't have to be. This is a simple, well-designed phone that we think we're falling in love with -- or at least developing a very strong crush.

From the silky smooth surfaces to its weighty feel, this is a cute little phone with guts and pizzazz. The screen is large enough to view messages and pictures on and the keypad is really well laid-out. Click on the next page for more info and pictures. -Andrew Lim

Underneath this stylish exterior lies a simple but functional set of features, including 3G, an FM radio, a 3.2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth and an expandable memory card slot. It's no iPhone, but it is much smaller and will slip into any pocket very easily.

The best thing about the 6600 Slide is how good it feels to hold. It's not too light, so it doesn't feel cheap, and it's not too heavy, so it won't weigh you down. This is truly Goldilocks' phone.

On the back of the 6600 Slide there's a 3.2-megapixel camera that comes with an LED photo light. Notice the shiny battery cover -- it'll pick up fingerprints, but it looks great when it's polished.

The Nokia 6600 Slide's keypad is small but well laid-out and easy to type on.
