Nokia announced the 6282 in New York this week, a , UMTS cell phone that--surprise, surprise--will actually make it to the United States early next year. Features include a slider design, a 2.2-inch-diagonal QVGA display, a digital music player, a Mini SD card slot, and an FM radio. The platform will be Series 40, third edition. On the downside, the camera has a resolution of just 1 megapixel, which is unexpected, considering the support for 3G. The carrier should be Cingular, as the 6262 operates on GSM 850/1800/1900 bands. What's more, Cingular will have its 3G network operating in 2006, while T-Mobile is taking its time until 2007. We don't have pricing yet, but we'll let you know as soon as we get it.
