Official photos have already leaked, but now come hands-on snaps of Nokia's new Windows Phone 8 handset in the flesh.

The Nokia Lumia 820 and 920 leaked in official photos late last week, but now comes hands-on snaps of the 820 ahead of its launch at Nokia World this week. And it's quite a slim little thing.

These pictures come courtesy of Chinese site coolxap, spotted by WMPoweruser. They show the Nokia Lumia 820 in the hand, with a side-on view showing how slim it is. There are some specs too, though not nearly as many as I would've liked.

There's not that much to glean from the specs screen, thanks to said Chinese website slapping its watermark all over the thing. Thanks guys. It's running Windows Phone 8, the upcoming version of Microsoft's mobile software, and only has 335MB of RAM, which doesn't seem all that much. But this could just be a prototype, so it could change. And it is a mid-range model to the Lumia 920's high-end, so slightly middling specs are to be expected.

So what about the screen resolution? I've been peering long and hard to try and see past the watermark, and I reckon we're looking at 480x800 pixels. Again, no great shakes.

Official-looking shots of the 920 and 820 leaked on Friday, via a Twitter account calling itself @evleaks. The 920 is said to pack in Nokia's top-notch PureView camera tech that featured on its ridiculous 41-megapixel 808 PureView handset. Though the 920 looks a lot slimmer than that Symbian blower, so almost certainly we'll be seeing the sensor tech in a scaled-down form. The 920 sports a 4.5-inch screen, while the 820 is a 4.3-incher. Both handsets will come in a range of bright colours.

All will be revealed come Nokia World in New York, which kicks off on Wednesday. We'll bring you all the news as it happens, so stay tuned to CNET UK.
