Listen to your favorite songs on the go with iOS app Whyd
Free Whyd app for iPhone offers a slick way to access tracks and playlists you've added and created with its Web app.
Whyd is a Web app that lets you create playlists of tracks you discover on YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud and other online music repositories. The service also lets you follow other users with similar musical interests and builds you a feed of their tracks. It's a handy way to keep tabs of the new music you come across during your Internet wanderings.
Now Whyd is out with an iPhone app that lets you take your tunes on the go. Just install the free app, log into your free account (or create one via Facebook or email), and you'll be off and rocking. From the menu button in the upper-left corner, you can access your Stream (tracks of those you follow) or your Profile (tracks you have added yourself via the Web app). From your Profile, your feed of tracks is sorted chronologically, with the most recently added tracks at the top, and you can also drill down to your playlists. You can also access a feed of the tracks you have liked.
There is a search button in the upper-right that lets you search by track name, playlist, or user. From the search results screen, you can add tracks to one of your playlists and follow or unfollow other users.
A bar along the bottom of the screen shows the title of the track currently playing and offers a play/pause button. Tap on this bar to view the Now Playing panel, which adds buttons to skip forward and backward, and plays the video for tracks which have video. Lastly, the Whyd app plays in the background and hooks into the iOS Control Center for easy access and control.
