Consumer electronics giant LG plans to debut its third generation of L Series Android smartphones at the Mobile World Conference later this month.

The trio of mid-range smartphones will come with Android 4.4 KitKat pre-installed and sport 1.2GHz dual-core processors, the company announced Saturday. All three handsets come in a metallic frame with colorful Quick Window cases, which allow users to see the date and time on the screen without opening the case.

The top-end L90 sports a 4.7-inch display with a 960x540-pixel resolution, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, an 8MP rear-mounted camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, and a removable 2,540mAh battery. The L70 features a 4.5-inch 800x400-pixel display, a 5MP or 8MP camera (depending on the market), 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and a removable 2,100mAh battery. The low-end L40 comes with a 3.5-inch 480x320-pixel display, a 3MP camera, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and a removable 1,540 or 1,700mAh battery (also depending on the market).

LG didn't reveal pricing or partners for the new handsets or when consumers could expect them to hit the market, but expect to hear more about them at the Mobile World Congress, which begins February 24 in Barcelona.
