LG Remarq goes green

Sprint's LG Remarq is a messaging phone with an eco-friendly design.

Sprint launched an alternative to the Samsung Reclaim today when it unveiled another "green phone" called the LG Remarq. The slider handset is made from 19 percent recycled plastic, it's composed of no hazardous materials, and 87 percent of its parts are recyclable after use. Its box also is made from recycled paper and can in turn be recycled. It uses a low-energy charger and offers an app to measure your carbon footprint.

Features include a 1.3-megapixel camera, an MP3 player, a microSD card slot, stereo Bluetooth, a personal organizer, and a speakerphone. The messaging phone also offers a full QWERTY keyboard. The Remarq will be available May 9 for $19.99 with a two-year service contract and a $50 mail-in rebate. We'll track it down at CTIA for a closer look.
