Looks like we might get more than the Galaxy S5 from Samsung in the coming weeks.

The Korean electronics giant plans to release multiple versions of its flagship smartphone, just like it did with the Galaxy S4, according to a couple Asian sites, earlier noted by BGR.

That includes an Active model that's more rugged than the flagship device, according to the Korean language ET News. Samsung also may launch a Zoom model of the Galaxy S5 with strong camera capabilities, BGR said, based on an Indian import database that showed to listings for "SM-C115 Samsung Mobile Camera."

Samsung has long released a broad assortment of devices to appeal to as many consumer needs as possible. For the Galaxy S4, it introduced Active and Zoom models, as well as a cheaper Mini device. It's likely the company will continue with its strategy for its newest flagship phone, which is expected to be unveiled later this month at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

It's vital for Samsung to release another hit as competition heats up and smartphone growth slows. The company last month reported its first quarterly operating profit decline in two years as its mobile business weakened. However, Samsung said at that time that it had big hopes that a strong second half of the year would help smartphones and tablets post "solid growth" overall for 2014. The company also said it planned to expand its flagship phone line and increase the number of phones that work with Galaxy Gear and other wearables.
