The Google Nexus 6 is now available to pre-order in the UK, and Google's Lollipop-packing phablet will set you back £499.

The Nexus 6 is a 6-inch phablet built by Motorola. Along with the Nexus 9 tablet it's one of the first devices to show off the new version of Android, Google Lollipop, and it could be in your hands in a matter of weeks.

Orders aren't open on the Google Play online store yet, but you'll be able to place your order for a 32GB or 64GB version in dark blue or white "soon". The 32GB model costs £499 and the 64GB model £549. If you buy before the end of the year you get six months of Google Play Music thrown in.

If you just can't wait, Carphone Warehouse is now taking pre-orders, for the same prices or or for free with a contract starting from £34.50 per month.

Google hasn't confirmed a proper release date or a delivery date for pre-orders, but says the device will be on shop shelves on 1 December.

The mighty Nexus 9 is on sale now from Google Play, and will set you back £319 for the 16GB model. The 32GB model is currently sold out.
