Google+ Local for iOS is being tossed out next month.

The search giant sent out an e-mail to current users of its iOS app saying the service will no longer be available as of August 7, 2013. The move isn't all that surprising, considering the company recently integrated Local's features into its Google Maps app for iOS.

The Google+ Local features in the new Google Maps 2.0 include the ability to search for places, read information on certain locations, and rate and review establishments.
