Garmin's new fleet of GPS devices

Garmin is on a roll, releasing seven new GPS products within the past week, and lucky for you, most are set to ship in July so that you can get in one last road trip before the summer ends. First up is the StreetPilot 2720 ($1,184), which builds on the StreetPilot 2620 we reviewed last year and adds text-to-speech functionality, announcing the name of upcoming streets and points of interest. Plus, the 2720 has an optional FM RDS-TMC traffic receiver for digital information (where available) on traffic, road construction, and more. If you don't want to spend so much, there's the Garmin StreetPilot i series. The i2 ($321) and i3 ($430) are about the size of a baseball and provide maps of North America, a 128MB TransFlash data card, voice-guided directions, and more. These units are expected to ship in August.

The Garmin iQue M3, Garmin Quest 2, and Garmin StreetPilot c340, which were also announced this week, are all new additions to existing lines. Much to our delight, the M3 is a less expensive version ($500) of the M5, and the Quest 2 now comes with all maps preloaded on the device, unlike the original Quest. The StreetPilot c340 builds on the c330 by offering the option of a traffic receiver like the 2720. And boaters, we didn't forget about you. The GPSMAP 376C features support for XM WX Satellite Weather, and it can be used in the car. What are you guys waiting for? Hit the road!
