Fujifilm brings Super CCDs to its most affordable cameras

Fujifilm has unveiled two new affordably priced snapshot cameras that incorporate the company's Super CCD HR sensor, the 4-megapixel FinePix A400 and the 5-megapixel FinePix A500. The Super CCD HR promises an improvement in image quality over the standard CCDs previously used in Fuji's low-priced models. Both A-series cameras sport a 3X zoom lens and a 1.8-inch LCD. Endowed with a basic feature set, each camera is powered by two AA batteries. The A400 and A500 will be available in February 2006 for $149 and $179, respectively.
