Find the perfect Christmas gift for her with new Gift King app

Not on the High Street has launched a new app to help gift-challenged chaps find a thoughtful gift come Christmas morning.

It's the most wonderful time of the year: time to pick the perfect present or you're on the sofa throughout January. Luckily, Not on the High Street has launched a new app to help gift-challenged chaps find a thoughtful personal gift come Christmas morning.

Gift King is a shopping app aimed at blokes to quickly and easily customise your present search based on the personality of the lady in your life. Adjust a series of sliders to find the right balance for your wife, girlfriend, mother-in-law, maiden aunt, or that cute girl in accounts you've never quite managed to talk to yet.

Tell the app whether or not the lady in question is sentimental, all about family, up for a giggle, or a lover of jewellery. Then set the price range and you're presented with a selection of possible gifts from

I tried the app to see if I could find a present for my secret santa giftee, and came up with a few cool ideas including a jigsaw depicting a map of the recipient's town with a piece shaped like their house at the centre, various tasteful framed prints -- and a lot of jewelry.

Usefully, the app has a button right at the start to specify whether this is a Christmas present or not, automatically filtering out any gift ideas that wouldn't turn up in time for the big day.

Gift King is free from the Apple App Store for the iPhone.

Not on the High Street is a marketplace for handmade and quirky lifestyle products from more than 4,000 small businesses in Britain. If nifty-gifty knick-knacks are your significant other's canvas tote bag, Etsy is another good place for presents.

Have you bought your Christmas presents yet? Where's the best place to bag a bargain? Let me know in the comments or under the tree on our Facebook page.
