Recent Apple updates to iTunes, Mac OS X, iPhone, and iPod Touch have resolved problems with DFU mode on Apple's portable devices and added notes synchronization with MobileMe.

According to a report on spaziocellulare.com, Apple's recent Mac OS X 10.5.7 update brings two welcome changes for iPhone and iPod Touch users.

DFU Mode Fix

Last fall, our sister site, MacFixit, reported that Mac OS X 10.5.6 causes iPhone jailbreak/unlock problems by making it impossible to enter DFU mode, a deeper version of Recovery Mode activated by holding Power and Home for 10 seconds, then releasing Power while holding Home for 10 more seconds. This feature, which is helpful in jailbreaking an iPhone or an iPod Touch, is also important for troubleshooting and when performing the most complete restore possible. Thankfully for anyone who needs a full restore, DFU Mode Fix has been restored by the 10.5.7 update to OS X.

Notes Synchronization with MobileMe

Apple now supports full Note synchronization for those using MobileMe, iPhone OS 3.0 beta, iTunes 8.2 beta, and OS X 10.5.7. Notes sync is definitely a welcome addition to the list of things that MobileMe already synchronizes: mail, bookmarks, and third-party data.

What do you think about the restoration of DFU mode and the notes syncing with MobileMe? As Apple makes more improvements to MobileMe, are you more interested in renewing or starting your subscription to the service than before? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
