Verizon looks to be inching closer to announcing a 5-inch HTC smartphone, with pictures of said device surfacing over the weekend.

The handset will be known as the HTC DLX ("deluxe") and should arrive in time for the Thanksgiving shopping season, according to Android Central.

The source of the photos advised that the HTC DLX comes with 16GB internal storage and a 2500mAh battery, both matching previous rumors. Decked in the same red and black of the Droid Incredible series, the forthcoming device will boast a full 1080p HD display and quad-core processor. In fact, the DLX should feature specifications that closely mimic the recently announced J Butterfly. Assuming that is the case, then we should anticipate a quad-core processor, 2GB memory, and 4G LTE support.

Additional details provided by the Android Central source indicate that the HTC DLX has physical buttons instead of soft keys and may have an 8-megapixel camera. Previous reports had pegged the handset as having a 12-megapixel camera, but if this is anything like the One X then consumers should be quite alright. Rounding things out, the HTC DLX should run Android 4.1.1 with HTC Sense 4+, and feature Beats Audio, the same setup as in recent models.

CNET contacted Verizon Wireless and HTC for comment. A Verizon representative declined to comment, while HTC wasn't immediately available. We'll update the story when HTC responds.
