Track testing the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette and its new Performance Data Recorder
Auto Tech
Hi, everybody.
It's Tim Stevens from CNET.
We're here at the Spring Mountain Performance Driving School taking a look at a new option on the 2015 Corvette.
It's got a Performance Data Recorder and it'll basically give you a recording of what you do on the track.
Records your GPS position, your acceleration, even things like your steering angle that puts it all as a video overlay on top of footage recorded from a camera, this embedded here in the front windshield.
It's a 720p view forward.
We're gonna take you for a ride.
All right.
Let's get the hot lapse in the 2015 Corvette.
Everything is stored right here on an SD-card and actually encrypts everything onto an MP4 file so you can just put this right on YouTube if you want to.
It gives you a data overlay of your speed, your track position, anything else.
You can also run it through a software provided by Cosworth to get some more telemetry, if you like.
You got it available only on the 2015 Corvette.
So, if you got a 2014, it may be time to upgrade.
Again, this is Tim Stevens for CNET.
Thanks for watching.
