Pair a phone with 2009 Nissan head unit
[ Music ] ^M00:00:08 >> Brian Cooley: Hey folks Brian Cooley here in a 2009 Nissan Rogue showing you the quick how to steps to pair and use a Bluetooth phone with this car and many other Nissan products. Now this is an optional Bluetooth system on this car but you'll find the same procedure works on a number of other models from this car maker and it starts with a voice command button over here on the left side of the wheel in this case. Verbal set up for this guy. There is no other way to do it with buttons on the actual console. Set up. >> Set up the available commands are; pair phone, list phones, select phone, change priority, delete phone, select ring tone and Bluetooth off. [Beep] Pair phone. Say new phone, replace phone or list phones. [Beep] >> New phone. >> System is searching for your phone. Please complete the pairing process by activating the Bluetooth search mode in your phone. The pass key is 1-2-3-4. >> Ok, so the search process is on. The car is looking for the phone. I put my phone into the mode of being available for pairing and the pass key right there is what I'm going to enter once these 2 find each other. Now even though the verbal instruction said that the system is looking for my phone that's BS. You've got to set up your phone to look for the system. So don't get fooled by that and you see there it says there Bluetooth hands free. So now I know I've found the head unit of the Nissan. I'll go ahead and ok that. Now there's the request for the pass code. I'll punch that in just like on the screen 1-2-3-4 and enter. >> Please say the name for the phone. [Beep] >> Blackberry. Blackberry. >> Is this correct? >> Yes. >> Yes. Please assign a priority level to >> Blackberry >> By saying 4 [beep]. >> 4 >> Blackberry >> Saved with a priority of 4. >> So we're set here and you see I've got one last step on my Blackberry. It'll differ on your phone to say yes complete the connection and we should be all good to go. And there it is. Connection succeeded. Now we're all set to go. To use it of course you go back to those same buttons and start your call. You also saw that I set priority 4 because we can have a handful of phones on this system. We already have 3 in front of me. And the most important part is how do you make a call on this guy? You go to the voice command button that has the pickup receiver icon. >> Please say a command or help. [beep] >> Call 415-344-2000. >> Call 415-344-2000. Please say dial or correction [beep] >> Dial. >> Dialing. >> So that's how you pair and manage a Bluetooth phone on this 2009 Nissan Rogue and other Nissans [background music] with this fairly basic non-LCD based center stack. ^M00:02:55 [ Music ]
