Lincoln MKT ConceptLincoln's vision of a Lear Jet for the road, seen from the 2008 Detroit auto show.

Notice it kinda has a, a biggish coupe SUV blend to its lines. That's one of the big ideas these days. They say the interior is the leer jet for the road. So notice that everybody gets a great place to sit, gets a full console with the full richness of interior appointments. A lot of stuff inside the car is green including, and this is rather odd, a hand knotted banana silk carpeting. I'm not even sure what banana silk is. Corn silk I know, banana silk I don't. Power in this thing would be one of the 3.5 eco boost V6's Ford is all about here at Detroit. So it's a gas engine, turbo charged, with direct fuel injection. They say it's a V8 in power with V6 displacement and leanness. You can get about 340 horsepower and foot pounds running on gas, but you get more like 400 horsepower and 415 foot pounds running on E85 because the engine management can change and boost the hell out of it, which it can't do with gas for a variety of detonation reasons as I understand it. So this is part of the new Lincoln look, the new Ford family power plant push, and luxury for all. [ background music ] I'm all for that. Too bad it's not real. ^M00:01:24 [ music ]
