>> The Volkswagen Tigwan Crossover, one of those cars that's been arriving like a session of water torture, slowly. But we finally got the production version unveiled at the 2007 Frankfort auto show. As you can see it's a vertical little thing with some rounded corners. Here's an odd twist, it has alternate front clips available. In other words the trend in fun or sport and style models have a more street look, but if you get the track and field version the nose kit is changed out to give it a more radical angle of approach. In the drive train department there's also an off road mode that does a lot of changes. You press the button and it recalibrates the downhill creep mode which starts to operate, the hill climb assist kicks in, a different throttle response curve takes over and the breaking is boosted differently for loose surfaces. Also look for a nav system and maybe even automatic steering for parking. The US can expect a two liter turbo four with direct injection and maybe a turbo diesel as those return to the US with the new ultra low sulfur fuels.
