The start up electric car company from California Fisker has unveiled their second concept car the Atlantic here the night before the New York auto show.
This car that we're gonna show you today as you know, we don't make concept cars and that change and for production so what you're gonna see today is a promise that we're going to deliver.
It's an extremely exciting car.
It's a vehicle that would have our next generation polar train which again will have a electric range only and you will be able to switch manually between electric and range extended mode.
It is what we believe uncompromised luxury, responsible luxury.
And we think the extended range is so important.
Because range equals freedom.
We want this car to be a true family or into vehicle.
So when we decide the vehicle, we did extremely short overhang very long wheel based which create a lot of interior space.
This is a cure family vehicle.
This vehicle will have performance and fuel economy that will be better on any other car in its size and in it's price range.
The Fisker Atlantic isn't really dramatically different from the Fisker Carmen.
That's pretty much what we expected but I think it's exactly what Fisker needs as a small new company.
The Fisker Atlantic is gonna be closer to about maybe the 40, to $50,000 price range and I think that's actually gonna get more people interested in looking in this car as maybe a luxury alternative to the city of bolt I mean even if they does turn out to be about 10 grand more than you can expect from that car.
Now the Atlantic's older brother car that has space several problems including a defective battery.
Time will tell if the Atlantic will also have to go through those hurtles or even if the Atlantic will be made, the company is still searching for financing to make the car.
Fisker kinda has a bit of a start up mentality and so part of any sort of like dot com start up getting money for that is generating buzz and showing that people are interested.
That's what Fisker is doing here today.
Or Fisker fits in the market is pretty much about the same blaze as the Chevy Bolt does.
It's kind of the intersection of people who wanted electric vehicle but maybe don't wanna be tied down to that 40 mile range but then you also intersect that which are sort of performance luxury buyer.
There are people who are interested in the BMW or an Audy or Mercedes Benz who want a nice car that actually looks good and has you know nice, creature comforts in power that's pretty much where Fiskers vehicles fit.
